Online Cricket Store

14 Jun 2013 06:48:51

This week, we at Batting 4 6 have added an exciting new feature to our website. It's new technology that has recently been made available.

We have added a virtual tour of the shop, which allows you to browse, not just lots of pages, but the actual shop and in many cases, the actual products.

Navigating around the store will give you an indication of the choice we have on offer at any time of the year. It allows you to pan around the store. Impressively you can zoom in to such an extent that the grains on the bats are clearly visible.

The store can be accessed through Street view, you can come in through the shop doors from Carolgate and look at all our products.

To access the panaromaic virtual tour of the store through our website, go to www.batting46.com scroll down the page a little and click on the image of the store. This is best viewed in a larger map. Pan aaround by left clicking your mouse and pan left to right, up or down.

We are also planning the next activity to take your online shopping expeience to a new level. But that will have to wait for another blog.

Build up to the Ashes

30 May 2013 11:35:46

I don't want to apply the commentators curse to the England team at the moment, but it looks like Cook and Crew are hitting top form just at the right time. New Zealand haven't put up much of a fight in the recent series, the performances of some of the England players is looking extremely good.

Cook and Root in particular with the bat have been in superb form of late, with Swann and Anderson doing the damage with the ball, Broad also performing remarkably well it seems that the cogs are slipping into place at just the right time.

The Ashes

So we are now but a month and a bit from the 10th July Ashes Series kick off at Trent Bridge where we will be sitting in a hospitality box kindly invited by Gunn and Moore. We can't wait for that day, but can't wait for what promises to be a fantastic series.

This series is really important to cricket in the UK at present. After last summers virtual washout, we lost a lot of junior cricketers who lost interest with games being cancelled. Whilst we are all working hard to regain their interest, a good Ashes series will do wonders. With kids looking up to their heros on the field, we hope that they will want to go out their and emulate them on the local parks and fields.

Lets hope the weather stays fine and the runs flow and Austrailian wickets tumble so that the papers are full of great stories and the news readers have it at it at the top of the programmes and the excitement reaches fever pitch.

Congratulations are in order

Congratulations to Gunn and Moore on getting Sarah Turner on board. Considered to be one of the best women cricketers in the World right now, Sarah has 4 test matches under her belt, 77 ODI's and 46 Twenty20s and in the summer of 2009 she became a double World Cup winner having played key roles in England’s 50 and 20-over successes, both home and away.

Sarah TurnerApart from her success in the women’s game, Sarah regularly represents Walmley Cricket Club in ECB Men’s club cricket and there is an option for her to play for Sussex 2nd Xl this season, which would make her the first lady cricketer to play at this level

Congratulations also to Sarah Turner on being involved in such a great global brand as Gunn & Moore who have surpassed themselves this year with what we have found to be the most popular purchase in the Octane F2. The range of bats this year have been incredibly popular with them outselling other brands in the Batting 4 6 store by 2 to 1. This added to the impressive Teknik teamwear that we have been able to offer many clubs this year has made it a great year for Gunn & Moore in Batting 4 6.

At Batting 4 6 we are seeing lots and lots of new customers every week. Each week new customers are coming from all over the region, in particular we are gaining lots from the Nottingham region.

We are situated in a very good location, being able to serve Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Yorkshire Lincolnshire and on the edge of Humberside with cricket equipment to play, learn and coach. Into our third year of business we are fast becoming a destination of choice for cricketers across the region. The reputation for service as well as a vast amount of choice is spreading fast and growth is greater than we ever expected for this stage of the business.

Since winning the "Successful New Business" Award, interest in the busniess from Investors has also increased significantly, with many investors having seen the growth and development without the support, the possibilities are endless with the support.

Keep an eye out on our website for an exciting new feature which will support the blog and give you a unique view of the store in Retford. We are working with local businesses so that when you and your family come to Batting 4 6, there is an opportunity to visit other businesses in Retford and perhaps get discounts or just have a really enjoyable experience right across the town.
